This Schreiber Manor backyard started as a blank slate and became a true entertaining space. We built a custom gunite pool and a raised seven-person spa designed to work for quiet family afternoons and for the kind of gatherings this home was made for. The whole layout plays off the home’s large picture and game-room windows, so the backyard looks finished from inside the house as much as it does from the water.
A raised fire-and-water wall you can see from inside
The focal point is an 18-inch raised wall with three sheer descents and a linear fire feature. Water and fire read as one feature from the pool and from the home’s picture windows, and the space behind the wall became its own area for relaxing and hosting. We also raised the pool six inches. That gives it more presence, adds a layer of safety, and naturally separates the entertaining space from the water beside the game room’s opening windows.
Built for relaxing and entertaining
A spacious tanning ledge with three bubblers gives everyone a place to cool off, lounge in shallow water, or set up in-water seating and umbrellas. Six custom gunite bar stools turn the shallow end into a resort-style swim-up bar, so this is as much a place to gather as a place to swim.
Finishes that tie back to the home
We finished the pool in StoneScapes Mini Pebble in Aqua Cool for a vibrant, refreshing water color. The waterline is cobalt blue porcelain tile, with a decorative tile carried across the raised wall to pick up the home's Spanish-style interior and pull the whole backyard together. Platinum Ice travertine coping frames the pool and stays comfortable underfoot through a North Texas summer.
Built while the home was under renovation
We built this pool while the home itself was under renovation, coordinating our phases around the other trades on site so the work stayed clean from start to finish. It took longer than a standalone build, and the payoff is a backyard that feels like it was always part of the house.

Every pool we build includes premium Pentair equipment, properly sized filtration, energy-efficient five-color LED lighting, a pressure-side cleaner, freeze protection, and four weeks of complimentary pool service and water balancing after startup. Our pools are designed and built to meet or exceed the standards set by the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance and ANSI.
We also hold the Genesis Certified Builder Professional credential, advanced training we pursued voluntarily because it makes us sharper on the design and engineering side of every build.
